Seems things have gone slightly haywire in the ole training schedule. However, since I had already written up these tidbits for Week Six, I may as well publish them and save the explanations for the following blog. Meanwhile, here is a nice picture of some cockatoos in a tree that I often pass by. They make such an awful screeching but are lovely to look at.
Thursday - I could have gone further today. I was going at a nice pace and it seemed easy and rhythmic, but halfway through I realised that it was a beautiful day; sun shining, birds everywhere. I've been under a lot of pressure lately and working hard so I decided to say "fuck it". With a smile I took out my headphones, turned of the tracking app and just leisurely walked the rest of the way home. Now I'm going to turn my computer off for the day, leave my phone at home, and head out to a cafe with a good book. I've made today an official day of relaxation. I'll catch up with the mayhem tomorrow.
Friday - I fell for the same trap of a sunny day. This was possibly my worst time ever as I ambled through the sun dappled, tree-lined paths, enjoying the fauna and flora.
Saturday - The Boyfriend came with me today and the company made a big difference to my performance. Despite the slight hangover earned through mulled wines by the Yarra last night, I managed to keep a fairly constant pace. Today is the Winter Solstice and my big day down at Fed Square. Very exciting. It also makes the chances of my running tomorrow fairly dubious. But now, I figure if I can manage to push The Boyfriend out of bed in the morning, or vice versa, maybe we can make something of ourselves tomorrow. Also tomorrow is the Reclink Community Cup. More excitement.
